TÜV SÜD and the Argentine Institute of Standards and Certification (IRAM) have validated a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement paves the way for mutual recognition of certificates and tests by IRAM and TÜV SÜD's subsidiaries, Munich-based TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH and TÜV SÜD PSB PTE. Ltd. in Singapore. Manufacturers and distributors intending to launch their electrical devices on the Argentine market can now do so faster and more efficiently without having to commission IRAM to carry out separate tests.
Products imported to Argentina need a certificate issued by an approved certification body that confirms that a product is in conformity with the national regulations. However, with immediate effect IRAM will recognise TÜV SÜD's test results and certificates. Manufacturers benefit from the company’s comprehensive experience in the testing and registration of products and in-depth knowledge of international regulations. Given this TÜV SÜD experts can implement certification procedures promptly and as cost-efficiently as possible. The agreement covers all types of electrical equipment under Resolución SC N° 171/2016, from household appliances to IT and communication equipment, office equipment and home entertainment devices. The mutual recognition covers all certifications and tests according to international standards such as CB and IEC.
TÜV SÜD has years of experience in the testing and certification of products according to national and international standards and can help industries in marketing reliable and safe products. In addition to conformity certification, TÜV SÜD can provide further tests including testing of functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility and performance tests.
